As he lay defeated in the pit of balls, Willie was suddenly stuck with a memory from his childhood.
It was a warm summer day. Pleasant and dry. One of those lazy days that you sleep in really late on. His family had decided to stroll over to the passing carnival that was in town. Little grasshoppers jumped out of the way as Willie walked down the path along the side of finch point which was overgrown with weeds and other long grasses at the time. They got to the carnival, paid for their tickets, and entered. First up, the ball pit. Willie and his younger brother Albert jumped in with glee. After a few moments, Willie noticed that he had touched something that was not a plastic. He abruptly got up and yelled at Albert to do the same but it was too late. Albert had already found the 3 foot, venomous snake that Willie brushed with his hand. Albert was holding it and shaking it like was a toy. The snake turned on itself and sunk its fangs in to Alberts forearm. Willies mother screeched in horror.

Willie got to the swings to find that they were already occupied by Keezy La Breezy, one of the more creepy residents of finch point. Willie turned around and headed for the carnival that was passing through the town. He ducked under the hole in the fence and found himself next to the ball pit. It was empty, so he went in. He pulled the object out of his pocket. It felt like an oval shaped rock that had been smoothed in a creek. If you looked through the glassy surface you could see a shiny, glowing mist inside. The mist was pulsing and emitting light. Suddenly a group of children entered the ball pit, knocking Willie over. Willie dropped the rock like object, and in no time it was lost in the vast sea of colorful balls.

Willie walked down the street avoiding every second sidewalk crack. Willie focused his mind on patterns. Others might have called it OCD, but it to willie it was just something he did to pass the time. He didn't count the cracks or anything. He just jumped over every second one. Suddenly he caught a glimse of something shiny in street out of the corner of his eye. The silvery object was unfamiliar to willie. It was glowing and had a strange unearthly feel. He pocketed it quickly and hurried back down Black Avenue away from the Piggly Wiggly trucks that were stuck in the round about. Willie needed a more quiet place to examine the object so he quickly headed for the dilapidated swings by crooked hill. He couldn't be sure but it almost felt as if he was being followed.

first post
The sun was shining. The stray dogs in the abandoned park behind Finch Pointe were barking happily. Willie woke up in his cluttered apartment ready to embark on the new days adventure.
